As a believer it seems that we as Christians so easily allow the voices of the world divide what Christ prayed and died for (His body).
We have not been given the spirit of the world, but the Sprit of Christ. It saddens my heart for us as brothers and sisters in Christ to allow politics and worldly things to separate us and render our witness void of our God-given mission which is: That the world may know that Jesus was sent by God, that they may be saved!
The scripture tells us to love not the world neither the things that are in the world and to renew our minds that we may prove what is that good and perfect and acceptable will of God. Because we are in this world but Spiritually not of it. We are born again by the Spirit and that which is flesh is flesh and that which is Spirit is Spirit.
How many of you have a burden to see the body of Christ as one? Let us together pray and work toward this manifestation. I do believe in this end, this will occur because Jesus prayed for it to happen. (See John 17).
Let me know, as a Christian what you think?
I remember as a child around elementary age, I loved to run just for running’s sake. To feel the cool breeze against my face believing I could run as fast as I wanted. In my young mind there seemed a tremendous release of tension, anxiety and a great sense of freedom, but freedom from what? However, the feeling of escape was short. I would have to stop, only to come back to reality.
It’s funny how in the place of my running, some may use other means to escape such as; their jobs, busyness, alcohol, drugs, sex, power, gambling etc. Why? I also remember, as a young adult having a similar intrinsic feeling during the altar call at church, the feeling of wanting to escape, to run, still why and from what?
Yet, it wasn’t until one evening while being alone and reading a Christian gospel pamphlet that something clicked. It read, “Do you know that no one loves you enough as to know the very hairs that are upon your head? But God does. (Mat. 10:30) “Do you know that you are ransomed by the blood of Jesus? He died for you!” (Mat. 20:28) It was only after I repented and ask a Jesus I did not really know existed to come into my life, did I realize that in all my running, I had ran from and resisted the unconditional love of God. I thought, how could I have been so blind? (2 Cor. 4:3-4)
However, it was only then, that a greater feeling of freedom than running took over! A freedom from a heavy weight of sin and guilt was lifted. (Heb. 12:1) I was set free to live a life surrounded with the reality of God’s love, never to be separated from it again. (Rom. 8:35-39) It has been now 36 years!
We love him (God) because he first loved us. If a man say, I love God and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? (1Jn. 4;19,20)
Does anyone sense what I sense? To me the climate of this world seems to be one of divisiveness, fear, mistrust and hate. Even among some of our most elite and influential Christian leaders who,(knowing or unknowing) preach or teach God's Word with the influence of this worlds politics! Isn't it suppose to be the other way around? Isn't the preaching of The Cross suppose to influence the world to the point of repentance? As Christians have not received the Spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God?(1 Cor. 2;12) Aren't we, with renewed (Eph. 4:23) and transformed minds(Rom. 2:12)suppose to be ambassadors for Christ (2 Cor. 5:20) representing Him and the Kingdom of God in word and deed? (1John 3:18) Is it possible to be unknowingly deceived by your very own heart concerning secret sins? (Jer. 17:9)
My brothers and sisters as Christian leaders we must understand that if we ourselves are deceived, then that deception will permeate throughout the body of Christ like wild fire, causing divisiveness, fear, hatred and mistrust with the wisdom and judgements of this world, which is based on fleshly lusts and pride. Apostle Paul vehemently defended any such infiltration or contamination of the Gospel of Christ. Saying, that if we or an angel preach any other gospel, let him be accursed. (Gal.1:8) Should not we do the same? Should we not take a stand in this world where the love of God has waxed cold?
Beloved, Jesus was sent into this world because of God's love (agape), to save it? (Jn. 3:16) He
preached the Kingdom of God(Mark 1;14). He was the light of the World. (John 8:12) He was full of grace and truth (John 1:14). He was a manifestation of God's love, the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person! (Heb.1:3) And we as Christians, being in Him are now to be the light of the world. (Mat. 5;14) A reflection of God's very heart.
Let us demonstrate His love (agape). God's love really listens to others, is concerned, does not show partiality, is sincere, speaks the truth in Him, is empathic, is merciful, denies itself and looks on the things of others, bears all things, is longsuffering, is understanding, and seeks to gather rather than to scatter. Beloved, let us constantly examine ourselves by the Holy Spirit, and if we have erred, let us humbly repent and come back to our first love. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The Lord Jesus our advocate is ever merciful. He will forgive because HIS love never fails! (1Cor.13:8)
